f any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5 NIV
Do we have enough wisdom? Of course not, wisdom is never enough. This is one of the best thing you can ask in prayer to our Father.
Salomon in an example of it: God asked him a wish, and he asked wisdom. This was the best choice for a wish ever.
With wisdom we always are on the right side, we don’t want to make or say things without thinking well.
Of course this thinking, may take more time for ones and less for others, but it’s important, when coming to decisions, to know what you are doing.
Sometimes, like in many cases shown in the Bible, we have to make a jump of faith. But this doesn’t mean, we don’t have wisdom, but only that is wiser to obey God, that not.
An example of this you can see in the case of Jonah.
The best thing is pray before every decision, never do anything by emotions.
Devotional
If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you, for he is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask him.
James 1:5a NIV
There are two things yu have to do when it comes to an hard decision.
First of all, admit that you need God’s guidance, and not try to do it yourself, if you feel lost.
Second you need faith:
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind
James 1:6 NIV
When you pray, you are expecting an answer, if not it won’t come.
