Psalms 37:23-24 NIV

23 The Lord makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in him;

24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

When you first start your christian life, you are not already a ‘spiritual veteran’. Instead you start very naive and make a lot of errors. But God is looking at your heart, and knows that you have good intentions, and you put effort in it. So he won’t let you fall. The good thing about this process, is that you are learning from your errors, and getting stronger and stronger in faith.

Plan devotional

You made a plan, but it failed, maybe you are passing through difficult circumstances due to an error you have done.

There are three kind of errors people can do in this scenario:

1 be passive: think God will provide, but you stay still and do nothing about it. This is wrong, God gave you a brain, some hands, and legs. So that you can go and try you best, do always according to the scriptures, do the right thing and God will help you. This is what the verse 24 is saying.

2 blame God: you have made the stupid thing, you have taken the wrong decision, and now God is the guilty. This is of course, not true. Take your responsibility, and do what you have to do in order to fix it.

3 be paralyzed: you are terrified about making the wrong thing. What if I’m not doing God’s will? But this way you are negating the love of God. God is love, He loves you, and he won’t condemn you if you make an error. He wants you to learn from your errors, and truly understand what it is to apply God’s word to your life.
