Hiding the word of God in us

I have hidden your word in my heart
    that I might not sin against you.

Psalms 119:11

This word shows us how to live a life of righteousness in a wicked world. We hide the word of God in our hearts by meditating on it, memorizing it, thinking about it, and remembering it in every situation. To do this we have to read and meditate on the word of God every day.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Romans 12:2

By thinking about the word of God, reading, and learning from it, we renew our minds every day.
When temptation comes, we have to remember, what Jesus did in the desert: he answered with the word of God.
The devil wants us to close the Bible, to conform us to the way of thinking of the world.
So it’s very important to spend time with the word of God, praying and searching for the presence of God.

When you read the word, you are storing it in your heart. Maybe, when you are reading it, it doesn’t seem important to you, but then the occasion comes, in which you need it.

The word is able to give you the wisdom you need on every occasion. When this happens, you have to stop it and think about what the word says. Sometimes we have a question to which we don’t know the answer, but, when we remember the word, we have the answer from it.

This word talks about the purity of life. In Hebrew, beth means purity and also house. The Psalms talks about a young person that wants to stay pure. At that time it was easier to do this, but at this time it’s a lot more difficult for a young to stay pure.
World wisdom advises the young to have a good time, and take advantage of life. Then when you are older can put your head straight. But the word of God tells us that we have to follow Jesus as soon as possible. This is the best option. the Bible teaches us life wisdom. For example, it teaches us to wait for God’s time for sex life. To save money and learn financial wisdom.
It is difficult for young people to remain consistent with the word of God, also because they feel the desire to be accepted by other young people, and to belong to a group. The Bible teaches us to keep away from bad company.
A big problem for young people is drugs. Young people start using drugs to be accepted. But whoever hides the word of God in his heart, learns to stay away from these things. Today we can see the degradation that drugs have brought to society.
Apply the word of God, brings always the best in your life, this also applies in youth.
When you surrender to temptation, it becomes easier to do it in the future. This creates a bad habit, that is very difficult to break when it’s consolidated in your brain.
A word used in the psalm is ‘heed’. This is very important, you have to be careful in order to stay coherent to the word of God.
The word of God is like a light that illuminates obstacles, such as temptations. God’s word is a mirror, in which we can judge our works. God’s word shows how to repent when we have fallen into temptation.
The Bible is like an accurate map, if we don’t pay attention, we can still lose ourselves.
When you want to follow God with all your heart, you have a fear to get lost, for not paying attention.
First, we read or hear the word of God, think about it continually, memorize it, and then the word is hidden in our hearts. We need to pray in order to be able to know instructions from God.
