The Clerk at the Bar

Three scientists—Papaia, Banani, and Ravioli—and their assistant Igor, who are supposed to attend the famous dark matter conference, board the wrong flight and end up on the other side of the world. After arriving at the wrong airport, they book a hotel for the night, but it’s not exactly what they expected… in the sense that it’s terrible.

After a rough night, they also get stuck in the elevator.

We are at the bar, where the clerk is finishing his coffee break with his friend Alfred.

clerk: Do you remember those guys from last week?

Alfred: Yeah, you told me. It was a group of tourists.

clerk: Yeah, but did I tell you how it ended?

Alfred: I don’t think so. I’ve been home these past few days with a cold.

clerk: Ah! You missed it. That group was a real goldmine! They were so desperate after finding all the hotels fully booked that I gave them a… special price!

🤣🤣🤣

Alfred: One of your… five-star prices, right?

🤣🤣🤣

clerk: Exactly! One of those. I’ll never forget their faces when they had to fork over all that money!

🤣🤣🤣

Alfred: Don’t you think you took advantage of them a little too much?

clerk: It’s the law of the market!

🤣🤣🤣

…Let me explain something to you—but don’t tell anyone, this is a secret.

Alfred: Okay, I promise!

clerk: You see, Alfred… Some hotels in this city focus on quality… like the five-star one next door…

Alfred: Oh yeah, that’s a real luxury hotel. But it costs a fortune!

clerk: Exactly! While others focus on quantity…

Alfred: Like, offering low prices to get more guests?

clerk: Exactly!

Alfred: And the Sunflowerr Hotel? Which of these two strategies does it use?

clerk: Neither!

🤣🤣🤣

…You get what I mean?

Alfred: Like… profiting off other people’s misfortunes?

🤣🤣🤣

clerk: Let’s put it that way. But I like to think of it more as divine punishment!

🤣🤣🤣

Alfred: Like, someone does something wrong, and God makes them end up at the Sunflowerr Hotel as punishment for their sins?

🤣🤣🤣

clerk: You see, in this world, you reap what you sow!

🤣🤣🤣

Alfred: Interesting. I think I’d better start being nicer to my wife… I wouldn’t want to end up sleeping at your place!

🤣🤣🤣
