Scene 8: Scratch and Win!
We’re at the airport.
Banani is sighing with the flyer in his hands. Suddenly, he freezes, eyes wide open. Papaia and Ravioli stop their discussion and turn to the scientist.
Ravioli: What’s wrong, Banani? Are you okay?
Banani: Look at this! The flyer. It’s stained with white paint!
Papaia: I think it’s instant cappuccino. But what’s the problem?
Banani: Look here, Papaia! The stains were covering the numbers!
Banani scratches the instant cappuccino stain off the flyer.
Banani: Look here, Papaia!
Ravioli: Incredible! That three has turned into an eight!
Papaia: It’s not the 23rd, it’s the 28th! How did I not notice? I spent hours studying the flyer to avoid mistakes!
On the flyer, it now clearly reads: Dark Matter Conference, July 28, at the Springfield Illinois Convention Center.
Banani: Hey, guys! Do you know what this means?
Ravioli: It means we have four more days to get to the conference on time!
The three cheer, jumping for joy.
Igor (yawning): Speaking of light bulbs going off, Banani, with this scratch card based on instant cappuccino, has bought us another four days. That’s another 96 hours of impending disasters. Let’s hope this time we don’t end up in Antarctica!
