For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it.
Job 33:14 NIV
Charpter 33 of Job is very powerful. Job is talking with his friends, they are saying that the problems of Job has come because of a sin he is trying to hide. So they are suggesting him, to confess and repent of it. But Job is defending, by saying that he is pure, he has no sin. So the the Holy Spirit uses Elihu to speak about salvation.
Job is thinking that he is pure, and without sin, but we all know that this is not possible. In fact, due to the sin of Adam and Eve, this is not possible. Every man has sin in him and there is no way to remove it. Only God can do this by forgiving sins.
God is speaking to Job, and telling that he is not pure, he has sin.
Wisdom of men is not comparable with wisdom of God. God is always right, but Job is questioning what God is doing. In fact Job is claiming that, though, he has no sin, God is punishing him. So Job is basically saying that God is unfair. This is a sin.
Like to Job, God is always speaking to us, in many different ways, and many different times, but we are too proud to pay attention to His messages.
So first thing we have to do to hear the voice of God, is to be humble, and ready to change our mind, when we realize that something that seems right for us, is not right.
God always wants the best for us, as in this chapter is saying, he saves us many times from our bad decisions, and we don’t even realize it
Devotional
God speaks to us in many different ways, let’s get some common ways you can connect with Him.
By reading the Bible: if you are too busy to hear the voice of God, you have to save a little time every day to read the Bible in a quite place. The word of God, has not only a literal meaning, instead it’s very deep and makes sense to your life.
By hearing teachers: many times a sermon is talking to us in a very intimate way. Of course this is not intentional from the pastor or how is speaking. But is one way, the proof that the principles are timeless, the other way that God is using that person to you.
By the circumstances: sometimes God is physically stopping us to do a wrong thing. Sometimes we find open doors, opportunities, unexpected help. Many times we have to wait, this is the most difficult part.
