Papaia: Exactly. And those are typical signs of continuous deposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: In fact, looking at the diagram here, in some places it\u2019s impossible to tell where the Muav ends and the Redwall begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Papaia: That\u2019s because the Muav Limestone continued to be deposited even after the Redwall Limestone had started forming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: That really challenges uniformitarian geology, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Papaia: Yes. The Muav Limestone would have been deposited around 500\u2013520 million years ago, the Temple Butte Limestone about 100 million years later (350\u2013400 million years ago), and then the Redwall Limestone several million years after that (330\u2013340 million years ago).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: But based on the evidence, it makes way more sense to believe these limestones were deposited continuously \u2014 not with millions of years between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
