Three scientists \u2014 Papaia, Banani, and Ravioli \u2014 and their assistant Igor work at NASAL. When they start getting interested in creationism, their superiors send them to see a psychologist for a test. The psychologist, Professor Faggioli, is a questionable character, determined to get them fired by making them look crazy. The first one to go in is Ravioli.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are in Professor Faggioli\u2019s office, where Ravioli is talking about how, at the after-school cafeteria, he would get out of punishment by hiding the fish in his backpack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Faggioli, Ravioli’s sense of guilt from lying is somehow connected to his recurring nightmare of a giant boiled fish chasing him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faggioli: Anyway, apparently, in the dream you told me about, there are some details we still need to clarify, like the bullies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravioli: Oh, yes. I almost forgot. This is the worst part\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We go back to the flashback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are in the living room of Raviolino’s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raviolino walks in with his schoolbag still on his back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom: Raviolino, the teacher called me today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raviolino: Really? And what did she want?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom: She told me that you ate all the fish at the after-school lunch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raviolino (embarrassed): Uh… Yes\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom (proud): Well done! I\u2019m so proud of you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raviolino: Thanks, Mom. You know, it was tough, but in the end, I made it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom: So it’s true! Now you like fish!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raviolino (embarrassed): Uh\u2026 yes, yes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom: Perfect! I\u2019m so happy, and to celebrate this event… I made you a nice cake!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raviolino (amazed): A cake? Really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom: Yes, Raviolino! A nice cake\u2026 made of FISH!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Igor (off-screen): Raviolino\u2019s childhood was a constant training ground. Every day, new challenges tested his growing mastery of the art of hiding fish in his backpack. It started with a little innocent fillet…and now he had to hide an entire kilo of fish cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…More than a childhood story, this feels like the second level of a strategy video game… something like\u2026 Fish Hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026Fish Hide \u2014 The only game where lying to everyone is a survival mechanic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…But then, wait a second\u2026 A fish cake? What kind of people are these? Where did Ravioli\u2019s mom get the recipe from? From the magazine \u201cSeaweed & Birthdays: The Ultimate Guide to Marine-Themed Celebrations\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026Yeah, yeah, and I can just picture the birthday gifts recommended by the magazine. Like a pi\u00f1ata shaped like a fishing boat, and when you break it open, live clams fall out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026A truly original idea… for throwing up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026Or maybe Ravioli\u2019s mom came up with the fish cake idea herself. Yeah, to give Raviolino a “creative punishment”!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…Certainly, Ravioli had this ability to make others vomit… in his blood… or in his fins!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
