Three scientists\u2014Papaia, Banani, Ravioli\u2014and their assistant Igor, who were supposed to attend the famous dark matter conference, take the wrong flight and end up on the other side of the world. After arriving at the wrong airport, they book a hotel to spend the night, but it\u2019s not exactly what they expected\u2026 in the sense that it\u2019s terrible. After a rough night, they also get stuck in the elevator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re in the elevator, where the four of them are stuck and discussing Genesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: So as long as sin exists, the separation remains. Look what happens in Exodus 3, when God appears to Moses: He tells him not to come closer, and Moses covers his face in fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: Why was he afraid?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: In Exodus 33:20, God clearly says: “You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: But isn\u2019t Jesus God? Yet people saw Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: Exactly. Philippians 2:8 explains that Jesus, though God, “humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death\u2014even death on a cross.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: So man cannot see God in His full glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: Exactly. And that\u2019s because of our sins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: But if someone had never sinned, could they see God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: In theory, yes. But we\u2019ve all inherited Adam\u2019s sinful nature. There is no one who doesn\u2019t sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: And how do we establish that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: In Exodus 20, God gives Moses the Ten Commandments. It\u2019s the basis of moral law, the same law Jesus refers to when He says it remains valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: Like \u201cdon\u2019t lie, don\u2019t steal, don\u2019t kill\u201d…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: Exactly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: Well, no one can follow them all to the letter. But sometimes it depends on the circumstances…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ravioli: No, Banani. That\u2019s just an excuse. If we try to justify ourselves, it\u2019s because deep down we know there\u2019s a higher moral law that wasn\u2019t invented by man, but was written by God in our hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banani: You\u2019re right. No one is truly perfect in front of the moral law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
